Vanessa Parker is an Atlanta based food stylist, culinary producer, recipe developer, and blogger with over 20 years of experience.
She began her food career after graduating with honors from Georgia State University with a degree in Art History. Having worked in restaurants from the age of 15, and growing up with a mom who loved to cook, it was almost second nature to her and a clearly obvious path that she should take. She began as an apprentice in the food in film world and has worked and honed her skills with many incredibly talented chefs, food professionals and food stylists along the way.
She has experienced quite the interesting and varied career path. For 12 years she was the Culinary Producer/Food Stylist for the Food Network’s award winning show “Good Eats” with Alton Brown. As a freelancer, “Good Eats” only took up part of her time. When not busy with filming “Good Eats” episodes she worked on an array of projects from food styling for print and commercials, recipe testing for celebrity Chef’s such as Kevin Gillespie, Shirley O. Corriher, Kimberly Schlapman, Tyler Florence, Paula Deen, Sunny Anderson and Rachel Ray. In addition she worked on developing recipes and styling for several books and publications, teaching classes, to heading up kitchens for film shoots and major food and beverage events.
Most recently Vanessa has been traveling the United States working on various commercials, TV shows and print projects and is looking forward to what the next decade has in store.
She is a member of the esteemed organizations: Les Dames d’Escoffier, International Association of Culinary Professionals, and Women Chefs and Restauranteurs and a proud member of Slow Food, Southern Foodways Alliance, and Georgia Organics.
